Edith Minturn Sedgwick was born in california on April 20, 1943, to a very weathy, high social family.
she didnt have a happy childhood(DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY?), and developed anorexia in her teens.
later on, she found success as one of andy warhol's superstars! however, at this time edie began experimenting with hard drugs(she never did herion, however)which lead to her downfall...she lost many friends within her social circle including warhol(some people believe it was him who caused edie to go crazy)and began rehab at the Cottage Hospital. there she met her future husband,Michael Post, whom she married in july of 1971....
sadly, the marriage was shortlived. after a terrible night at the Santa Barbara Museum, Edie died the next morning,November 16, 1971 after they got home the night before, as edie fell asleep, Post noticed her unusual sleeping patterns, but dismissed them since he thought it was due "to her heavy smoking habit and went to sleep." she was only 28 years old. the movie "factory girl" was based on her life..
