Movie Review: Chalo Dilli

The Story:

The young and feisty Mihika Mukherjea is headed home from Mumbai to Delhi to see her husband. Unfortunately she misses her flight and she encounters Manu. Manu is loud and rude and not Mihika's cup of tea. The two then head to Delhi together and have quite the adventure!

The Cast:

Vinay Pathak as Manu Gupta
Lara Dutta as Mihika Mukherjee
Akshay Kumar as Cameo
Yana Gupta as Item Number
Brijendra Kala

The Crew:

Producer: Krishika Lulla, Kavita Bhupathi Chadda
Director: Shashant Shah
Lyricist: Manthan, Anand Raj Anand, Krishika Lulla, Shabbir Ahmed, Nisha Mascarenhas
Music Director: Gourov Dasgupta, Anand Raj Anand, Sachin Gupta, Rohit Kulkarni, Roshan Balu
Cinematography: Nikos Andritsakis

What Worked:

The film is nicely portrayed by our two protagonists played by Lara and Vinay. Their chemistry is great and the comedy is bearable.

What Didn't:

The second hour falters in comedy and the movie begins to slow down. Sequences also seem irrelevant and boring as well. Considering that the movie is set on the road, there are no beautiful shots that have us in awe.

Slated or Rated:

Chalo Dilli is an average movie with a couple good characters and jokes. However the movie makes no big impression on the audience and we wouldn't suggest you rush out and catch this flick.

Rating:

3/5 Stars
